2017 BMA of Arkansas State Meeting

Just Around the Corner

By Ron Fields, President, BMA of Arkansas

The annual meeting of the BMA of Arkansas is just around the corner (Nov. 2-3), and all churches are encouraged to send messengers to represent them this year. Not only will you hear reports from our departments and their plans for the future, you have an opportunity for input into those departments.

Central Baptist College will host the meeting again this year. They are always gracious hosts and the facilities are very adequate. It is always impressive to meet on campus and to see the progress in buildings and in student growth.

Plans are underway to provide breakout sessions again this year. Your officers are excited about providing helpful and hopefully encouraging sessions to make your presence worthwhile.

Location, Lodging, Display Table Information

Again this year, the BMA of Arkansas has accepted an invitation from Central Baptist College of Conway to gather on the CBC campus for their annual meeting. The following information about that meeting has been supplied by the CBC staff:

Parking

The city of Conway has designated “fire lanes” with red curbs and signs throughout the campus. Please understand that the Conway City Police has jurisdiction of these areas, even though they are on CBC property. Tickets for parking in a fire lane are very expensive, and we have no control over them. The safety of our employees, students and guests is our highest priority.

The same rules apply to parking on any of the adjacent streets around campus. These are marked with “no parking” signs. The City of Conway patrols those areas and tickets will be issued for any vehicles parked there.

Central Baptist College employees and students will park off-campus Friday to make room for meeting attendees.

Golf cart shuttles will run frequently both Thursday and Friday.

All parking spaces on the south and west sides of the Cooper Complex will be designated “handicapped parking” for the duration of the meeting.

Display Tables

Display tables will be in the hallways of the Cooper Complex. CBC will provide one large 8 ft. table. Additional tables will be $25 each. If electricity is needed, please specify when calling.

The deadline to reserve a table is Friday, Oct. 27. Please RSVP to Jessica Faulkner at (501) 205-8800 or jfaulkner@cbc.edu.

Setup will begin at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1 and end at 5 p.m. Setup on Thursday will begin as early as 7 a.m.

Food & Drink

CBC will be providing complimentary water on the stages of Toland Worship Center and the Burgess Auditorium. Complimentary coffee and water will also be provided by CBC in the foyer area of Cooper Building.

CBC will again host an appreciation breakfast for anyone attending the BMA of Arkansas Annual Session on Friday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 a.m. in the Mabee Student Services Complex. Please RSVP by contacting Jessica Faulkner at (501) 205-8800 or at jfaulkner@cbc.edu so that we can prepare food and seating.

CBC Dining Services will also be available for lunch and dinner during the meeting. Lunch is served daily from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and dinner is served 4:45- 6:30 p.m.
