E.T. Burgess (Dec. 15, 1941 Temple Trumpet) — With the characteristic suddenness of grim horror, the peace and tranquility of Sunday, Dec. 7, 1941 was disturbed by a cowardly assault on this land of ours by the Imperial Forces of Japan. We are now at war. Whatever may be our personal attitude, our duty is now plain and unmistakable, for we are forced to fight for the right to live and pursue a normal way of life. This is no time for bickering, neither a time for personalities, either in the ranks of Christianity or the realm of politics.
