We are still working in San Angelo, Texas, at Grace Temple Baptist Church (BMA). This week, we have fed 1,700 meals and distributed 5 pallets of water. We have also given out 25 Bibles and prayed with several individuals. It has been a joy to work alongside Pastor Chris Sweat and Grace Temple. They have been very supportive and involved.
The area we’re working in has many flooded houses, and many people are still unable to return to their homes. The community has a large senior citizen population that rents and is waiting for their landlords to restore livability to their homes. We are providing hot meals and water until they can recover.
We need six people a week to work making up plates and handing them out at our distribution site. I would like to have people starting next Monday, Aug. 18. We could use three or four teams to work over the next few weeks. The church members at Grace Temple have been amazing, but this is their fifth week, and they are tired.
We sincerely thank the BMA for helping make this possible. We still need volunteers, monetary donations and your prayers.
