By Philip Attebery, President

Just before graduating with my Master of Divinity degree, BMA Seminary President Philip Bryan invited me to his office for an “exit” interview. Dr. Bryan used the time to ask my thoughts concerning the strengths and weaknesses of my education and the institution itself.
Conducting such an interview remains the tradition at BMA Seminary. As the seminary’s new president, it has been my pleasure to interview our 2025 graduates. As part of the interview, I asked graduates what they would say to encourage those interested in studying for a seminary degree to consider the BMA Seminary. Each response encouraged me as they emphasized our devotion to the Bible, truth, sound doctrine, affordability and encouragement. I want to share with you some of their encouraging comments that demonstrate how the Lord is working through your support of BMA Seminary:
“Preaching courses helped my ability to handle and rightly deliver the Word.”
“Christian ethics particularly caused me to think through lots of issues, from different angles… provided a foundation for counseling when difficult issues come up.”
“I really liked the discipleship classes. They taught me a lot about soul-winning, how to approach people, how to disciple others.”
“Doctrine classes led me to a solid foundation to hedge against false teaching.”
“Every class helped me connect to Scripture.”
“BMATS is truly Christ-centered, and the quality of faculty is ‘up there.’”
“BMA is Bible-believing and true to the Word of God, affordable, and encouraging. BMATS went above and beyond in helping me.”
“BMA is small, teaches Bible truth, sound doctrine, and does not waver from the Scripture. BMA is a great opportunity, and great economically. There was not a single professor who did not care about my education. They were concerned that I understood and got what I needed.”
“BMA is very conservative, stands by sound doctrine of the Word, and professors are qualified by grace. Flexibility online and training is a plus.”
“I could call or come by, and any professor would help. They want my pastoral ministry to be a success.”
“From the day I walked in, to the day I walked out, I was never concerned that the Bible wasn’t the priority here… My time at BMA has made me even more committed to the truth, and that affects everything I do in ministry.”
“I’d encourage prospective students to attend BMA by first taking DiscipleWay or a free class to see how they like it.” “You won’t regret having a seminary degree, but you might regret not having it.”
Part of BMA Seminary’s stated purpose is to equip students for Christ-centered service and leadership roles within BMA churches. We exist, in part, to help Bible-believing churches, agencies and individuals hold fast to the Word and work of Christ. I am sure that you can see from this sampling of comments from our recent graduates that proper views and skills related to preaching, ethics, counseling, disciple making, evangelism, doctrine and Scripture are a priority for BMA Seminary.
Please continue to support us through prayers, financial gifts and encouraging prospective students to attend your BMA Seminary. To request more information or schedule a visit, send an email to president@bmats.edu.
