What Do You Expect for 2022?

432

So 2021 is almost in the books! There’s nothing we can do to change what has happened in the past year. Those New Year’s resolutions that you made at the dawn of 2021? Gone. That exercise program you were determined to begin? History. And let’s not talk about the diet. Lord, deliver us from the never-ending diet… 2021 is gone!

Some of us will regret all the things we planned to do but never made time for. But there is a world of possibility right around the bend, and 2022 can be the best year of your life!

“Hey, Donny, you don’t have any idea what I’m facing here. Don’t play Joel Osteen on me.” Hey, I get it! All of us are facing challenges as 2022 rolls in. But I’m convinced that what makes the difference in how you see your future and how you deal with your past is what set of lenses you choose to view them both.

Will you see your life through a human perspective or a God perspective? If your view of life is through the paradigm of a human lens then expect a finite view, a limited view, of what is possible. Expect depression. But if you see your life through the paradigm of what an all-powerful, always-good God can do in your life, things become exciting.

Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, prayed for the same four things every day — laborers, supernatural resources, open doors and that fruit would remain. Bill Bright was a businessman who heard God’s call to make disciples of all nations. What began as a burden for college students grew into the largest international Christian ministry in the world, reaching beyond students to serve inner cities, the military, athletes, political and business leaders, the entertainment industries and families. Millions have come to Christ!

I’m convinced that the way Bill Bright prayed was a reflection of his view of a big God. He viewed His God as being able to do anything, provide for any need and overcome any obstacle. That’s the way that I want to view life. That’s the way I want to see 2022. In fact, for the past three years, I have prayed every day over the ministry of Lifeword the same prayer that Bill Bright prayed for CRU. And I’m convinced that God is doing what only He can do through Lifeword around the world because He is a limitless God.

So here comes 2022! Time to pick up the set of lenses through which you want to view your future. God has big plans to use you and your church to further His kingdom. Whether or not we reach our full potential this year all begins with our view of God. Our prayers will reflect the lenses that we see Him through. Let’s have faith! Let’s dream big dreams for His glory, so 2022 can be your best year in His kingdom!
