Have you ever dreamed of walking in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul and experiencing the rich Biblical history of Greece? Here’s your chance! A special Greece trip has been organized for a predominately BMA group, offering an affordable opportunity to visit key Biblical sites mentioned in Acts 17-18 and enjoy a breathtaking Aegean Sea cruise. This unique opportunity is open to anyone able to make a last-minute decision, as the final deadline to join is February 4.
I began putting this trip to Greece together several months ago for several southwest Arkansas friends who had traveled with me previously to Israel. It seemed like the trip would fill up quickly as many signed up to go, so I did not share the opportunity in the Baptist Trumpet then. However, 8-10 have recently had to back out of going on the trip for various reasons.
Here are the main details for the trip:
• Cost — $2,405 per person (double occupancy) plus airfare. Single travelers pay a $490 supplement.
• Dates — Arrive in Athens no later than March 23 and depart on or after March 31. Most travelers plan to depart on March 22 to arrive in Athens on March 23.
• Package Includes — A four-day bus tour of Biblical sites followed by a three-day cruise (March 28-31).
I have customized this trip with a trusted Israeli tour company I have worked with on previous trips to Israel, which has recently expanded its services to Greece. This allowed significant savings by focusing on Biblical highlights and trimming some of the elements of Greek history (though not all). This customized tour costs close to $1,000 less than most trips of this kind. Originally planned for around 40 participants, the group currently has 31 members, allowing space for up to 10 additional travelers.
All participants are responsible for booking their own flights, which provides flexibility. The group will meet in Athens on March 23, with the tour starting the morning of March 24. Most travelers will return to the U.S. on March 31, while others will extend their stay for additional sightseeing. Almost half the group will fly out after lunch on March 31 to return to Little Rock or Texarkana. The others will fly back on April 1 to Dallas to save a little money on airfare and get one more day in Athens.
