LIFEWORD: Featured Language — Aymara

The Aymara-speaking people are an Indigenous group primarily found in the Andes regions of Bolivia, Peru and northern Chile. Historically, they are one of the oldest surviving cultures in South America, predating the Inca Empire. Their language, Aymara, remains a crucial part of their identity and is still widely spoken today, especially in Bolivia, where it is one of the official languages.

Religiously, the Aymara worldview blends Indigenous beliefs with Catholicism, a result of colonial influence. Traditional beliefs center on Pachamama (Mother Earth), Apus (mountain spirits) and cyclical time.

Lifeword partners in Peru, Paul Tinoco and Edy Aquino, faithfully produce a weekly devotional in the Aymara language to teach the truth of the Word and the salvation found only in Jesus to the Aymara people in South America. Visit lifeword.org/aymara to see their content. And please keep these two men in your prayers. Pray for open doors among the Aymara people and that the kingdom of God would be furthered.

Please join our US Lifeword Staff in praying for the following:

      • Please pray for open doors to share the gospel around the world, abundant resources to be used to proclaim His Name and fruit that would remain wherever a Lifeword Broadcast is heard.

      • Begin praying for Lifeword Sunday, October 19, 2025! Pray that God supply the needs of Lifeword to carry His name around the world!
