Last week, I introduced Special Emphasis 2026 and the theme guiding this year’s effort for the Baptist Trumpet — From Connection to Commitment.
For more than 85 years, the Baptist Trumpet has helped connect our churches to the work God is doing across our association. Through missionary updates, ministry reports, and stories of faithfulness from our churches, we are reminded each week that the work of the Lord is happening in many places and through many people.
That connection matters.
But as I mentioned last week, connection becomes most meaningful when it leads to commitment — commitment to pray, to stay engaged, and for some, to help support this ministry financially.
During the weeks ahead, we will continue sharing updates and ways our churches can participate in this year’s emphasis.
A Simple Way to Help
Pastors, I know how valuable your time is, and I am grateful for all you do to serve your churches. If you are able to highlight Special Emphasis during a service, that would be greatly appreciated. However, another simple way to help is to share the Baptist Trumpet promotional video with your church — either during a service, on your church’s social media, or through your email newsletter.

As always, I ask that you first pray for this ministry — that God will continue to guide our work and use the Baptist Trumpet to strengthen the connection between our churches and the mission we share.
Special Emphasis Update
Our Special Emphasis goal for 2026 is $15,000, designated for digital expansion, software improvements, and equipment upgrades that will strengthen our ability to serve our churches in the years ahead.
I am thankful for those who have already chosen to participate in this year’s emphasis. A special word of thanks goes to Milligan Ridge Baptist Church in Manila, whose generous gift of $2,500 has helped provide a strong start to this year’s effort. With the gifts received so far, we have already reached more than 20% of our goal, and we are grateful for that encouraging beginning.
