Featured Language: Jivi

The Jivi are an Indigenous people living in the plains of the Orinoco region along the border of Venezuela and Colombia. Their culture centers around close family communities, farming crops such as cassava and plantains, hunting, fishing, and preserving traditional crafts and storytelling. Spiritually, the Jivi have historically practiced animistic beliefs, including creation stories, nature spirits, and shamans who communicate with the spiritual world for healing and guidance.

Today, many Jivi still blend traditional spiritual beliefs with elements of Christianity. In this region, our Lifeword partner Bro. David Gomez lives among the Jivi people along the Venezuela–Colombia border and faithfully shares the message of Jesus through radio broadcasts, allowing the gospel to reach remote communities who might otherwise never hear the Good News. Please join us today in prayer for Bro. David and his team as they seek to share the truth of Jesus in South America.

Pray With Us

Please join our U.S. Lifeword Staff in praying for the following:

      • Pray for the launch of Lifeword’s new children’s program, Lifeword’s Little Learners, this summer!

      • Pray for God to provide the financial needs for the continued production of that program.

      • Pray for the construction of new broadcast facilities in the Philippines and in Romania.

      • Pray for the Pedi tribe, who speak Sepedi (also called Northern Sotho), and for the efforts of BMA missionaries and Lifeword to reach them better.

      • Pray for the Bol-anon speakers in Asia-Pacific, in the Philippines, as Lifeword provides gospel programming in their native tongue.

      • Pray for the upcoming BMAA National Meeting taking place at Antioch Baptist Church in Conway, April 21-22.

      • Pray for open doors to share the gospel in more places and languages, pray for abundant resources to be able to expand our gospel reach, and pray for fruit that will remain everywhere a Lifeword broadcast is heard.
