From Connection to Commitment

We are beginning to see encouraging momentum as additional gifts come in for Special Emphasis 2026, and I am grateful for each one. Each one is more than support — it is a reminder that we are partnering together in the gospel and taking steps from connection to commitment. While this is an encouraging start, we still have a significant need ahead to reach our goal.

For more than 85 years, the Baptist Trumpet has helped connect our churches to the work God is doing across our association. Through missionary updates, ministry reports, and stories of faithfulness from our churches, we are reminded each week that the work of the Lord is happening in many places and through many people.

That connection matters — because it is what ties our churches together in the mission we share. Many of the prayers we pray and the ministries we celebrate begin with something we read in the Baptist Trumpet.

But as we have been reminded in recent weeks, connection becomes most meaningful when it leads to commitment — commitment to pray, to stay engaged, and for some, to help support this ministry. Each gift received is a tangible expression of that commitment and helps strengthen our shared work in the gospel.

A Simple Way to Help

Pastors, I know how valuable your time is, and I am grateful for all you do to serve your churches. If you are able to highlight Special Emphasis during a service or share the Baptist Trumpet promotional video with your church this week, that would be a tremendous help — whether during a service, on social media, or through your church’s email newsletter.

You can find the video and other resources at BaptistTrumpet.com/SE2026.

First and most importantly, I ask that you pray for this ministry — that God will continue to guide our work and use the Baptist Trumpet to strengthen the connection between our churches and the mission we share.

Special Emphasis Update

Our Special Emphasis goal for 2026 is $15,000, designated for digital expansion, software improvements, and equipment upgrades that will strengthen our ability to serve our churches in the years ahead.

I am thankful for those who have already chosen to participate in this year’s emphasis. Their generosity has provided an encouraging start, and we are grateful for each gift that continues to move this effort forward. Every gift helps move us closer to this goal and strengthens our ability to serve our churches more effectively in the weeks and years ahead. With these additional gifts, we are now approaching one-third of our goal.
