I had the opportunity to visit with Anders about his event when I spoke to student ministry workers at the BMA of Miss. Youth Camp. The Renew winter conference is set for Dec. 27-29, 2023, at Bethel Baptist Church in Fulton, Miss. There will be four sessions of worship and preaching, we want you to come! Whether you bring 5, 15 or 25 teens, bring them! Registration can be done on our website at bmamsyouth.org/renew.php. This conference is free! Everything we do on-site, our department is funding.
Tracy McMillen is our speaker and Preston Jones, who leads worship for SOAR, is our worship leader. Each night there will be a catered meal. On Dec. 27, Do Right Bar B Que will be serving pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans, banana pudding and peach cobbler! On Dec. 28, The Chicken Man will be serving chicken tenders, green beans, loaded mashed potatoes with strawberry and chocolate cake! These kids will not go hungry! Each night after worship will be Late Night in Bethel’s gym and it will be loaded with fun events for everyone! Again… it’s free!
The breaking news this month is that we have booked Bob Smiley, a Christian comedian, to come to Renew. Bob came to SOAR a few years back and everyone enjoyed him! He is funny, country, goofy and silly. His job is to make you laugh and have a good time. This is the perfect addition to our youth meeting this December! He will be performing during our “late night” on Dec. 28 at Renew! We will be putting out a schedule for this event soon.
While everything at the event is free, lodging is not included. I have secured a block of 110 rooms with a booking rate with Holiday Inn Express in Fulton, Miss. and Holiday Inn Express in Tupelo, Miss. You can call now and reserve your rooms at these hotels. The name of our block of rooms at all of these is BMA Youth. Book before Nov. 15 because we must release all rooms by that date that are not booked!
