Camp Joshua: Arkansas Pro-life Camp Scheduled

By Tim Yarbrough, Communications and Development • Arkansas Right to Life

Camp Joshua, Arkansas’ premier pro-life camp for students ages 13-19, is set for July 25-27 at CrossHeirs Retreat Center in Humphrey.

The three-day camp is designed to train students to be effective pro-life followers and leaders, covering all the basics of pro-life issues through classes and hands-on workshops. Students visit the State Capitol, participate in interactive games, connect with pro-life leaders, enjoy great food and hang out with friends from around Arkansas at the secluded CrossHeirs Retreat Center located on a 280-acre farm in Arkansas County.

“Camp Joshua is a great place for students to learn the basics of abortion, infanticide and euthanasia in a comfortable environment with experienced speakers,” said Arkansas Right to Life (ARTL) Executive Director Rose Mimms. ARTL sponsors the camp. Mimms added, “Camp Joshua is a big hit with students not only because it is informative, but also features great food, fellowship and fun.”

Camp Coordinator Cheryl Breedlove added, “Camp Joshua plays a role in shaping the perspectives and character of today’s youth. Camp Joshua empowers youth by blending moral education, leadership training and civic involvement. It’s not just a camp — it’s a launchpad for the next generation of prolife advocates.” Seven of Breedlove’s 11 children have attended Camp Joshua, all of whom subsequently served as youth leaders.

Sessions include “Abortion 101,” by Dr. Richard Wyatt, “The Impact of Abortion,” by Mackinzie Amos, “Euthanasia 101,” by Catherine Phillips, and “Pro-Life in Arkansas,” by Rose Mimms.

The final session on Sunday afternoon will include a tour of the Arkansas State Capitol and a presentation on civic duty by Secretary of State Cole Jester, followed by the commissioning ceremony at 3 p.m.

Registration for Camp Joshua is now open, and space is limited to 25 students. Some scholarships are available for students who would like to apply. For more information or to register, visit CampJoshuaAR.org or call (501) 663-4237.
