Ruston, La. Mission Begins Weekly Services

By Jason Goodwin, Ruston, La. Church Planter • BMA Global

On August 3, we celebrated our first Lord’s Day morning worship gathering, with 65 in attendance — about 15 of those from our sending church, First Baptist Church in Magnolia (FBC Magnolia). It was a blessing to worship together in Spirit and in Truth. That day, we had the joy of baptizing three individuals into our fellowship, as FBC Magnolia had approved them for membership at Ruston Baptist Mission during their July members’ meeting.

Our second service, on Aug. 10, was smaller with 38 in attendance, but it gave us a clearer picture of our core group and allowed us to rejoice together in what God is doing. Another family has expressed interest in joining soon, with more likely to follow.

We are currently meeting at the ABS building, which is serving us well in this season. The mission eagerly anticipates students’ return to campus and prays for faithfulness in reaching them for Christ and integrating them into our church for their spiritual growth.

Please pray that the ABS and Ruston Baptist Mission will complement each other as we seek to reach both students and the city of Ruston for Christ.

God bless you, and God bless your churches, until He comes
