Central Baptist College is pleased to announce the appointment of two new academic leaders as department chairs for the 2025-2026 academic year. Dr. Debbie Fleming has joined the institution as professor of Education and chair of the Education Department, and Dr. Katherine Clohan Gasaway has been promoted to Chair of the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Department.
Dr. Fleming brings over 39 years of experience in the field of education. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Christian University, a Master of Science in Education from Henderson State University and a Doctorate in Education from Arkansas State University. Before joining CBC full-time, Dr. Fleming served as the Director of the Arkansas Co-Teaching Project with the Arkansas Department of Education. Additionally, she has served as an adjunct professor in CBC’s Education Department. Her vast experience and deep commitment to preparing future educators will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of teachers.
Dr. Katherine Clohan Gasaway has been promoted to chair of the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Department. She joined CBC in 2023 as an associate professor of Chemistry and has quickly established herself as a dynamic and respected faculty member. Dr. Gasaway earned her Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Biomedical Sciences from Troy University and her Ph.D. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Auburn University. Her leadership and expertise will continue to elevate the department’s academic excellence.
