CBC SPORTS UPDATE: December 22, 2021

Men’s Basketball

         • Austin, Texas, Dec. 14 — Looking to rebound from a tough loss on Saturday at John Brown, CBC took on the Rams of Huston-Tillotson University (HTU) in their final road game of the 2021 calendar year. CBC (5-8) led at halftime, but had to fight off an HTU (2-10) offensive show in the second half to hang on and win 75-72.

Wrestling

         • Atchison, Kan., Dec. 15 — Returning to the mat after a four-day break, CBC took on the Ravens of Benedictine College at Nolan Gymnasium. CBC would fall 46-9 on the team score, but had a pair of victories in the dual. Christian Richer moved to 8-0 in duals at 165 pounds this season with a pin in the second period. Dewayne Jennings wrestled the full length of his match at heavyweight, defeating his opponent by a 3-1 decision.

         • Seward, Neb., Dec. 18 — Competing for the final time in the 2021 calendar year, CBC was on the mat at Friedrich Arena for the Concordia University Duals. CBC didn’t win any of the duals they participated in as a team, but did post four individual victories in the four matches. Endrick Theodore defeated Crease Hamblin of Oklahoma Wesleyan by fall at 3:22 in the 141-pound weight class. Christian Richer won his match against Oklahoma Wesleyan as well, defeating Austin Daniels by a 6-5 decision at 165 pounds. Gregory Pierre-Louis won his match against Oklahoma Wesleyan by forfeit at heavyweight and additionally defeated Alex Hernandez of Marian by an 11-9 decision in their match, as he was able to get the late takedown to secure the win.
