By Michael Battenfield, President • BMA of Arkansas
We are just a week out from the 93rd Annual Session of the BMA of Arkansas and the associated activities and meetings. I pray that you have attendance and participation in this year’s meetings on your calendar and have made hotel reservations (if necessary) so you won’t miss any part of this year’s packed event! But even more importantly, I am requesting your prayers as we hit this final stretch of preparations to present an organized, meaningful and blessed session.
Don’t forget, our annual session begins with the State Brotherhood and WMA meetings Thursday morning at 10 a.m., followed by some carefully chosen breakout sessions (at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.) to encourage and inspire you toward healthy local churches. The Missionary Committee meeting is at 4 p.m.
We all should be looking forward to a time of evening worship led by the CBC Band, Worship Choir and the Singers, in preparation for the annual message by Hershel Conley, pastor of The Bridge Church in Mountain Home. We will then enter into our first business session and hear reports from our various national and state ministries. Friday morning, we pick up with a Pastor Appreciation Breakfast, sponsored by CBC at 7:30 a.m. and our morning business session beginning at 9 a.m.
As we are praying for our entire meeting, for our host Central Baptist College, speakers and ministry leaders, I encourage you all to take time in your local church this Sunday to not only have corporate prayer for the meetings but to sincerely seek the Lord’s direction for all our sister churches in the BMA of Arkansas. Pray that we will pursue a closer walk with the Lord, greater motivation and encouragement to minister the precious gospel of Jesus Christ in our communities, and for where each local church can fit in in a greater, more impactful way in our association of churches. And maybe ask yourself, “What does it really mean to be in an association of churches?”
See you next week!
