Jim Thompson surrendered to the ministry on July 8, 1962, and has marked 60 years of active ministry for him and his wife, Carolyn. During his ministry, he has been involved in associational work on the local, state and national levels. He pastored many churches, including: Pleasant Grove, Annieville; Center Grove, Cord; and Center Hill, Jonesboro. The Thompsons are currently members at Big Creek Valley Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
Their church is hosting a celebration to commemorate 60 years of active ministry on Saturday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the church (1023 CR 204, Jonesboro, Ark. 72421). Lunch will be catered. All are encouraged to come out and help celebrate the faithful ministry of this couple.
