MASTER’S BUILDERS: Homestretch Baptist Church

By Rose Bittner, Reporter

A small, but motivated, group from The Master’s Builders began work at HomeStretch Baptist Church, in Cleveland, Miss. on May 8 for a week. There were five men and four ladies who were able to come. This church building is a mission church building The Master’s Builders originally helped construct in 2010. Ed Duvall was the missionary pastor then and remains the pastor to this church family today. Each morning for the builders started with a devotion time, prayer and fellowship. The builders added a classroom, built a pony wall to close in the sanctuary area, built a large storage closet with shelves in the fellowship hall, and added a porch and walkway cover over the door to the fellowship hall. They were also able to hang the sheetrock for all the new walls that were built. The original walkway cover and steeple blew off in a storm not long ago.

This was job # 182 for The Master’s Builders. Thank you so much to those who came and worked so hard to help this church family. The church is a bit outside the city and the builders truly had a great time while they worked. They were blessed in so many ways by this church family and this community. They even had a church neighbor bring over a bag of delicious fresh boiled crawfish to share one evening. Thank you to all the ladies who worked hard cooking to supply the great food for the group each evening. The builders were certainly spoiled. Thank you to Bro. Ed’s brother, John who was faithful to be there each day to help in any way needed. Please join The Master’s Builders in praying for Bro. Ed’s wife, Patricia and this church family. The church motto is “Running the race set before us,” and they certainly are committed to doing just that!

The Master’s Builders will be working at Jacksonville College in Jacksonville, Texas, beginning June 5. Please come out to visit us or to help if you are in the area.
