Southwest District Brotherhood Announces Project o Benefit JTC

By Dr. Eric Goble, Pastor • Brister Baptist Church

In the quarterly meeting of the Southwest District Brotherhood on July 18, we heard from the Just the Crumbsministry, a BMA Disaster Relief organization. This ministry responds to disaster-stricken areas and also provides hot meals to volunteers and the disaster victims. The organization utilizes portable kitchens, shower and laundry facilities and other important equipment. They also distribute much needed supplies, water and other food products. They are capable of preparing and serving hundreds of hot meals a day to those who are in urgent need.

It was brought to my attention by one of my men who deployed with Just the Crumbs that they are in urgent need of another portable generator. They are currently operating with two 12,000-watt units, which barely cover their needs to operate cookers, freezers, refrigerators and air conditioning on their shower/bunkhouse trailer. One of the units is not operating properly, and they are barely getting by.

Our church would like to spearhead a campaign to raise the money to purchase a new 45,000-watt diesel generator for their use. This size operates cheaper than a smaller gasoline powered unit, has a longer run time due to a larger fuel tank and it will give Just the Crumbs enough power to meet the needs of other demands, including emergency lighting, other feeding areas and additional equipment.

The purchase price of this generator is $35,000. We have contacted our area churches about this need and would also like to invite your church to consider responding to meet this need. Just the Crumbs ministry represents the BMA, and especially the Lord, to people in these areas who may have never been in a church. We feel they deserve the best professional equipment in order to meet the needs of hurting people and to open doors to present the gospel in the affected communities.

In order to place a definite timeline for the project, we ask that contributions be made before the next quarterly Southwest District Brotherhood meeting in October. This provides more than ample time to take special offerings, host fundraising efforts, etc.

If your church wishes to contribute to this effort, please make your check out to Brister Baptist Church, include “Generator” on the memo line and mail it to Brister Baptist Church, 3711 Hwy. 79 South, Emerson, Ark. 71740.
