Missionaries have been my heroes since learning about them through GMA (Girls’ Missionary Auxiliary). I passed that down to my daughters when they memorized the missionaries’ names and sent letters to them. But it wasn’t until I began serving at BMA Global that I understood the broader picture of how we serve our missionaries’ needs.
God’s mission to make Jesus known may take them to far corners of the world in isolated villages. Others have been called to urban areas, planting churches that reach local people. Some are in closed or creative access countries that require name changes. They are not fearful of their safety; when they say “home,” they mean the place they serve.
But sometimes, they need a special kind of care.
Director Dr. Jonathan Montgomery leads BMA Global Missionary Care. He prepares, equips and ministers to BMA missionaries so they can be fruitful in life and ministry. The purpose is to serve our missionary families as they serve others by caring for spiritual, physical and emotional needs. Jonathan contacts them daily, assessing their spiritual and emotional needs and providing encouragement and counseling.
