The free fall course offered by BMATS, “How to Study the Bible,” taught by BMATS Professor Dr. Greg Parsons, is scheduled for Sept. 30–Nov. 22. This eight-week online course will emphasize inductive Bible study principles to study the Bible for oneself. Included is how to interpret the text according to the biblical and historical-cultural contexts. The main textbook, authored by former BMATS professor Dr. Joe Pendleton, The Joy of Bible Study, has been reprinted by the Baptist Publishing House and is offered as a free PDF.
In addition to participating for free, the student may take the course for credit with a tuition charge. The former option allows learning by doing as much or as little as one has time. The latter requires full participation in a normal course, such as quizzes, homework, and reading one or two additional textbooks.
