The United District Women’s Missionary Auxiliary (WMA) held its quarterly meeting on Saturday, July 12, at Caney Valley Baptist Church in Plumerville. Six district churches were represented at the patriotic-themed gathering, with 39 in attendance. The group met to show support for God and country and to promote the mission of BMA Moral Action. We united our hearts in honoring God, celebrating the many victories and blessings He has provided, and in praying and pledging to pursue righteousness in our lives, which God’s Word in Proverbs 14:34 assures will exalt a nation.
We rejoiced as our children, America’s next generation, led us in worship, and we affirmed the Pledge to the American Flag, the Pledge to the Bible and the Pledge to the Christian Flag. We joyfully sang great hymns of victory, power and encouragement. We learned more about the efforts of BMA Moral Action and committed over $600 in support through offerings. The group signed letters to be mailed to President Donald J. Trump and Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, along with cards made by the children to convey support, fervent prayers and encouragement. We expressed our belief that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Eph. 3:20-21) and joined our hearts in prayer that He would do just that.
We were honored to hear from Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Cody Hiland. Justice Hiland holds a special place in the hearts of the United District, as he was raised in one of our churches. Justice Hiland shared how vital churches are to our state and nation and stressed the importance of prayer for those who serve to protect us and lead us. We gathered around Justice Hiland to pray for wisdom as he leads, and for strength and protection for him and his family as he serves in the work the Lord has called him to do. By God’s grace, may we be blessed to be a state and nation whose God is the Lord.
