As we continue forward in the 2025–2026 academic year, I am especially excited about the opportunities we have to celebrate and support the Fine Arts at Central Baptist College. The performances offered by our students and faculty not only showcase their incredible talent but also reflect our mission of glorifying God through excellence in every area — including the arts.
Hymn Service
Our first Fine Arts event of the semester will be the 14th Annual Hymn Service, led by Associate Professor of Music Dr. Earl Johnson and the Worship Choir. This service will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 4 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. in Toland Worship Center. The theme this year is 19th-century British Hymn Writers, Part 2. This event has become a cherished tradition on our campus, and I encourage you to attend and be inspired by our rich heritage.
Fall Band, Choir, and Handbells Concert
On Thursday, Oct. 30, at 6:30 p.m. in Burgess Auditorium, the CBC Band and Women’s Chorus will present their fall concert. The music continues with the CBC Chamber Choir on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 6:30 p.m. in Toland Worship Center, followed by a performance from the Handbells, String Quartet and Clarinet Ensemble on Monday, Nov. 17, at 5 p.m. in Toland. These concerts offer a wonderful opportunity to show your support for our students and to appreciate the fruits of their talent and dedication.
Fine Arts Christmas Concert
To close the semester, we will gather for our beloved Fine Arts Christmas Concert on Thursday, Dec 4, at 6:30 p.m. in Burgess Auditorium. This concert brings together every Fine Arts group and program in one powerful evening of music and worship. It is always a highlight of the season and a joyful way to prepare our hearts for the Christmas season.
CBC Singers and Leadership
This year, I am excited to welcome Max Sullivan, our new director of Vocal Music and assistant professor of Music. He will be working with the CBC Singers, Chamber Choir and Worship Choir as they minister in churches across the BMA. I also want to recognize our 2025–2026 CBC Singers: Daisy Cline, Willow Hager, Dalton Herring, Ethan Kirchner, Avery Crocker, Grace Diggs, Mary Grace Hall, Masen Pinkerton and Natalie Smith. We are proud of their commitment to using their voices for God’s glory.
Looking Ahead to Choir Tour 2026
Looking toward the spring, we are already making tentative plans for Choir Tour 2026. We will be excited to share more details as they develop, but I know this will be another meaningful opportunity for our students to represent CBC while sharing the Gospel through music.
I am deeply proud of the work of our Fine Arts faculty and students. Their performances not only enrich our campus life but also proclaim the truth of Christ through music and creativity. I invite you to join us at one or more of these upcoming events — the talent, passion and dedication on display will bless you.
