CBC Wraps Up Homecoming 2026

Homecoming 2026 was a huge success, with many students, alumni, employees, and friends of the college joining this year’s festivities.

The weekend began at 11 a.m. on Friday with our annual chili cookoff in the CBC Dining Hall. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni all participated, with 10 teams. Ultimately, Alumni finished in third place, Admissions secured second, and Women’s Basketball claimed first. This year’s award for best-decorated table went to Financial Aid.

Later that evening, the Student-Alumni Carnival took place at 6 p.m. in the A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse gymnasium. Students, alumni, and members of the CBC community attended and enjoyed free funnel cakes, hot chocolate, a photo booth, and a variety of games. From inflatable obstacle courses to a mechanical bull, the carnival offered something for everyone and was a fun way to end the day.

Saturday morning, we had a Generational Family Breakfast at 9 a.m. The event celebrated the generations of students who have attended CBC. The event was a fun time of fellowship and a special trivia game between some of our family legacies.

Later, we had our annual Alumni Luncheon at 11 a.m. in the Dining Hall. At the luncheon, we presented four alumni awards. The first award was the Outstanding Alumnus Award, and it was presented to Rick Hutchinson. Rick graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Business Administration from CBC. Rick is a worship pastor at New Life in West Little Rock, a YouTuber, and the owner of Retro Rick’s Gamepoint in Conway. Every year, he hosts a nostalgia convention called Retro Fest for the community, and last year over 5,000 were in attendance.

The second award, the Achievement Award, was presented to Stacy Jordan. Stacy graduated from CBC in 1987 with an Associate of Arts in General Education and later earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from UCA. She has been a dedicated employee at CBC for many years and has served as registrar for the past decade.

The next award was the Service Award presented to Cindy Goad. While not a graduate of CBC, Cindy has faithfully served the college for many years. Cindy attended Pulaski Tech and earned a degree in Dental Assistance and has been in that field for 43 years. For the last 10 years, Cindy has overseen the Mustang Club and concession stand.

The last award was the Legacy Award presented to David Dickson. David attended CBC in 1969 and felt God’s call for his life when he signed up for a mission trip as a CBC student. This trip led to several mission trips and eventually to him becoming a long-serving BMA missionary. Currently, he serves as the missions pastor at First Baptist Church in Magnolia.

The Homecoming games began at 1 p.m. in the A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse, with the Lady Mustangs opening play against the Columbia College Cougars. Following the game, which the Cougars won 81-59, the 2026 Homecoming Court was recognized, and senior Lily Brister was crowned Homecoming Queen. The Mustangs then wrapped up the weekend with a hard-fought game against Columbia College, falling by a score of 70-52.

Another memorable Homecoming weekend has come to a close, and we are sincerely thankful to the alumni, faculty, staff, students, and all those who helped make the weekend possible. We look forward to many more meaningful events like this in the years ahead.
