Central Baptist College: Looking Ahead to 2026

By Dr. Jeremy Langley, President

As we look toward 2026, the focus of Central Baptist College (CBC) remains clear and unwavering. We exist to bring glory to God through the ministry of Christian higher education. Scripture reminds us, “whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (I Cor. 10:31 ESV). Everything we do, from classrooms to campus life, from finances to facilities, is intended to honor Christ and serve His churches by preparing students for lives of faithful service.

With that focus in mind, I would like to briefly share a few key goals that will guide our work in the coming year, followed by specific ways we ask our BMA family to pray for CBC.

Our Goals for 2026

         • Continued movement toward financial stability — Over the past year, we have made important progress in strengthening the financial position of the College. This includes careful stewardship, improved oversight, and renewed fundraising and donor engagement efforts. Financial stability is essential for ensuring that CBC remains Christ-centered, conservative, and affordable for future generations of students. Our goal is not simply survival, but long-term sustainability that allows the college to thrive.

         • Increasing student housing capacity — Enrollment growth and a record number of residential students have highlighted the need for additional student housing. Providing safe, quality housing is critical to the student experience and to discipleship that occurs outside the classroom. Expanding housing will allow us to serve more students while strengthening campus life and community. Continued enrollment growth is critical to meeting our first goal of financial stability, but we cannot grow without a place to house the additional students.

         • Addressing critical campus facility needs — Several of our campus facilities require significant repairs to remain fully functional. The Cooper Complex needs a new roof at an estimated cost of $350,000. The Mabee Student Center requires a new HVAC system at an estimated cost of $250,000. Boilers are not functioning in the Watkins Academic Building and Story Library, making it difficult to heat the buildings properly. We do not currently have the funds for any of these repairs. In addition, other campus facilities have deferred maintenance needs that must be addressed. These repairs are necessary to protect existing assets and to provide safe, effective spaces for learning and student life.

Our Prayer Requests

As we pursue these goals, we are deeply aware of our dependence on the Lord. We ask you to join us in prayer for the following:

         • Wisdom for leadership — Please pray that the Lord would grant wisdom to me, our Executive Leadership Team, and the Board of Trustees as we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead. We desire to make decisions that honor Him and serve the mission entrusted to us.

         • God’s direction in student enrollment — Pray that the Lord would bring the right students to CBC. We ask that He would lead young men and women whom He is calling to grow academically, spiritually, and personally within a Christ-honoring environment.

         • God’s continued provision through His people — Finally, pray that the Lord would continue to provide the resources needed to operate His college through the generosity of His people. We are grateful for the faithful churches and individuals who support CBC, and we trust that God will supply every need according to His will.

Thank you for your prayers, your encouragement, and your faithful partnership in the ministry of Central Baptist College. We look forward with confidence, trusting the Lord to guide and sustain His work in the year ahead.
