SPOTLIGHT: Anthony & Adrienne Kennedy

We continue to thank God for your desire to stay updated on all He is doing in our lives! Here is a quick update on what the rest of 2025 looked like for us and on our plans for Summer 2026, Lord willing.

In September, we worked alongside our church’s youth team and had the first-ever Teen Camp for Faith Baptist Church (FMBC) in Mena! With the theme “Armed,” we walked through what it means to be equipped to fight the good fight. We still correspond daily with one young man who attended the camp and expressed a desire to grow in his relationship with the Lord! September was also the month that we attended the American Association of Christian Counselors World Conference with Anthony’s parents, where we gained a lot of great information and resources for ministry and chaplaincy. Then we wrapped up the month at Healthy Church Solutions’ Recharge Conference, where we worked directly with our internship directors to serve BMA Pastors and ministry leaders.

In October, our church worked the gate at Fields of Faith, and we were able to pray with a couple of girls afterwards who needed some encouragement in their faith. Our church also put on our annual Fall-tastic Festival, where we got to man the spiritual engagement table! We challenged passersby to name three things God cannot do (lie, be unjust, let sinners into Heaven), then shared the gospel, prayed, and gave them the Gospel of John and some candy. At the end of October, we attended a training that equipped us to teach a curriculum for bible training for those who cannot access a seminary!

In November, Anthony attended the BMA of Arkansas State Meeting. We hosted the youth team and youth group at our house for a bonfire with games, hot chocolate, hot dogs, s’mores, and a devotion! Then we were blessed to attend a young adult night at the church, which also featured a bonfire, s’mores, and a devotion. Another update is that we passed our dogi test and earned the right to wear a karate gi while training in martial arts! Then, finally, the month was wrapped up with Thanksgiving celebrations with family!

December was by far our busiest month! We began our journey to Man O War (MOW) Cay in the Bahamas on Dec. 2 and stayed until Dec. 23. We served at New Life Bible Church in several ways: Anthony preached three sermons each week; Adrienne led weekly women’s devotions; we held weekly youth game nights with devotions; Anthony led weekly men’s breakfast devotions, and so on. Most of our days were filled with visiting people at their homes or in the church apartment, going out together, and more. We were blessed with many opportunities to minister and witness to people all over the island. Anthony’s parents and sister joined us for a few days, and we loved showing them around and introducing them to our MOW family!

On Christmas Eve, we traveled to Texas, where we were able to spend good quality time with Adrienne’s family. We enjoyed card games, a mini shopping trip, Puerto Rican rice and pasteles, a wedding of a high school friend, and more! We returned to Arkansas to ring in the new year and have been fully immersed in all that 2026 holds since then!

Though this update is about what happened during the rest of 2025, we are sad to share that one of our greatest mentors in missions and life, Jerry Kidd, passed away just a few days ago here at the beginning of 2026. There are a few reasons we share this with you all. First and foremost, we ask you to pray for his family, especially his wife, Ms. Sue. Additionally, Bro. Jerry was absolutely instrumental at every step of our ministry together, helping us make connections, advising us on decisions, providing prayer support, and so much more. Losing this mentor and friend directly impacts our missions and ministry as the Kennedy family. Lastly, we share this because we now need you all to stand in the gap for us even more than you already do in prayer, since there is now one very strong voice no longer interceding for us.

As for plans for 2026, Adrienne will be traveling much less now that our BMA internship officially ends in January, and she is going full-time with her speech therapy job. Anthony may be able to travel a little more, but his main focus for the rest of the winter and most of the spring will be training for the chaplaincy at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. For the upcoming summer, we are really focusing on leading one trip to Peru and helping orchestrate two other trips for FMBC to Campeche, Mexico, and Minneapolis, Minn. (Lord willing, always).

We are so incredibly grateful for your support and absolutely would not have been able to embark on all the adventures of 2025 without your prayers and friendship! We are truly blessed to be entering into another year of life in Christ, and we look forward to what God has in store for 2026!

“I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of Your wonderful deeds! I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High” (Psalm 9:1-2 ESV).
