Each week, thousands of copies of the Baptist Trumpet make their way into mailboxes across Arkansas (and beyond) and into inboxes around the world. Most of the time, they arrive quietly — no announcement, no fanfare. Just another issue delivered.
As we begin looking ahead to March and April — the months we set aside each year for Special Emphasis — I want to pause before we talk about goals, projects, or plans and simply say thank you.
Over the past year, we have walked through important transitions together:
• We expanded to a weekly 12-page paper.
• We navigated a staff transition.
• We absorbed rising printing and postage costs.
• And we made the difficult decision to adjust our subscription rates.
None of these decisions were made lightly. Each one was made prayerfully, asking the Lord to give wisdom so that this ministry would remain strong not just for today, but for the years ahead.
What has encouraged me most has been your response. Many churches increased their monthly support. Some began giving regularly for the first time. Others reached out with simple but meaningful words of encouragement. That steady, faithful partnership strengthens this ministry in ways you may never fully see. Every issue that arrives in a mailbox or inbox each week is a reminder of that partnership at work.
Special Emphasis has always helped us address needs beyond our regular operating budget. But the long-term health of the Baptist Trumpet depends on consistent, shared commitment from churches and individuals who believe that staying connected matters. It is not simply about funding a paper — it is about sustaining a shared voice for our churches.
Since 1939, the Trumpet has served as a steady weekly link between our churches and the broader work of the BMA. We tell the stories of lives changed. We report on ministries advancing. We preserve the history of what God is doing among us. Week after week, we help ensure that no church stands alone.
That calling has not changed. If anything, in a time when communication is constant but clarity is rare, the need for a trusted, steady voice is even greater. And that kind of clarity only happens when churches walk forward together.
As we approach Special Emphasis season, I’m encouraged — not anxious. I’m hopeful — not hesitant. I believe the Lord is continuing to strengthen this ministry through the faithfulness of His people.
In the coming weeks, I’ll share more about how we believe God is leading us forward and how you can be part of that work. For now, I simply want you to know how grateful I am.
Thank you for standing with us.
Thank you for believing in this ministry.
Thank you for helping keep our churches connected to the mission.
Together, by God’s grace, we will keep moving forward.
