• Neighborhoods — Winter storms descended at the end of January and made a right mess of the roads. Ice locked down driveways and kept most people inside. We were stocked up, so we didn’t need to travel — but that didn’t mean we stayed put.
With metal garden shovels in hand, we cleared our driveway and then helped our neighbor Betty with hers. She’s a dear lady who has had several back surgeries over the years. DeAnna, Paxton, Bear, and I opened it for her. It was a simple but meaningful way to love our neighbors.
My sweet Grandma Jane — now in Heaven — used to bake “friendship loaves” for the people around her. We followed in her footsteps and delivered banana bread to several neighbors. In the process, we learned new stories and discovered more about our neighborhood.
We continue prayer walks as well with DeAnna and some of the older kids in the mornings, and I bike and pray. We’ve already found several shut-ins. Seeds are being planted. We can’t wait to see what God grows.
• Nerd Culture — While preparing our home and headquarters, I stepped back from much of my digital ministry — but it didn’t disappear. It found me. A long-lost contact, “Smoking_Dutch,” messaged out of nowhere to invite me to his new Minecraft server. Between building and exploring, he asked how church planting was going. He remembered. He’s an atheist, but lately he’s been asking thoughtful, serious questions — keep praying.
At the same time, our kids are inviting neighbor friends over to play Minecraft in person and praying for them by name. Digital and local missions are colliding again.

• The House — Drywall is done. We sanded everything, then added texture to the ceiling. As “perfect” as I tried to get it, texture is safer — and it matches the rest of the house.
What’s left? Lights — outlets, mini-splits, flooring, interior doors, and trim. We are so close. This room will hold family movie nights, loud board games, late conversations, tired kids, and probably more than a few Nerf battles. It will also hold leaders around tables — spiritual conversations, prayer, planning, and coaching.
And what’s coming into this space makes the dust worth it.
• Prayer Needs —New leaders. The 24 neighbors on our road. The Jonesboro reach. The right projects. Finishing the house this month. Several upcoming retreats. Many upcoming meetings.
Thank you for praying with us and walking alongside what God is building here in Jonesboro.
