Retired Pastor, Billy Mack Russell, dies

Billy Mack Russell, 78 of Bodcaw passed away May 11. Known by many people as “Bro. Billy” or “Bro. Billy Mack,” he was a faithful member of Corinth Baptist Church, where he pastored for 37 years. Prior to that, he pastored at Laneburg Baptist Church for two years. He retired from Firestone after 37 years of service, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking.

Survivors include: two sons, Jeff (Sandy) Russell of Bodcaw and Jonathan (Mandy) Russell of Milton, Fla.; a daughter, Carol (Kenny) Camp of Stamps; a brother, Jackie (Sally) Russell of Searcy; a sister, Becky Dianis of Magnolia; 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service to celebrate Billy’s life was held on May 28 at Falcon Cemetery, with his son, Jonathan officiating. Cremation services were provided by A.O. Smith Funeral Home (aosmithfuneralhome.com).
