CBC PROFILE: Central Baptist College Announces New Trustees

The BMA of Arkansas, in their November 2022 annual meeting, elected four new members to serve five-year terms on the Central Baptist College Board of Trustees beginning in 2023 — Winston P. “Sonny” Foster of Marvell, Adam Thomas of El Dorado, Judy Wallace of Bald Knob and Dustin Wisely of Magnolia. 

Winston “Sonny” Foster is the retired owner of Foster Farms of Marvell, where he farmed for 38 years. He received a BSBA from the University of Arkansas. Foster is a member of Park Place Baptist Church of Bryant and is married to Mary Ned. They have two children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. This will be Foster’s third board term, having served 2011-2015 and 2017-2021.

Adam Thomas is the lead pastor at Wyatt Baptist Church in El Dorado, where he has served for 23 years. He received a BA degree in Bible from CBC and a Master of Divinity degree from BMATS. He is also currently serving on the BMAA Missionary Advisory Committee, where he has served since 2017. He and his wife, Kristel have four children.

Judy Wallace taught science for 10 years, served as gifted and talented coordinator for Wilbur Mills Education Coop for a year, was the Bald Knob Middle School principal for 5 years and served on the Arkansas Middle School Association Board before she retired. She received an AA from CBC, a BSE from UCA and a MSE from Harding University. She and her husband, Tommy are active members of Worden Baptist Church in Bald Knob. They have two children and seven grandchildren. This will be Mrs. Wallace’s second board term, having served 1993-1997.

Dustin Wisely is the lead pastor of First Baptist Church in Magnolia, where he has been serving for 15 years. He received a BA in Religious Education from CBC and a Masters in Pastoral Studies from BMATS. Bro. Wisely currently serves as a member of the BMAA Missionary Advisory Committee. He and his wife, Angela have four children.

I have been extremely blessed with strong leadership on the Board of Trustees, and I’m looking forward to adding these men and women to the 20-member board and drawing on their expertise.

CBC Board officers for 2023 include: Chair Jim Fink of Little Rock, Vice Chair Kirk Shelton of Fayetteville, Secretary Kellie Harper of Sarepta, La. and Assistant Secretary Lisa Speer of Conway.
