This Sunday, Aug. 17, is the Day of Sharing for Baptist Publishing House. You may have questions about what this is all about. I want to answer some questions you may be asking and share my heart with you.
What is Day of Sharing?
This is our annual fundraising effort to support the work we do all year round. All National Departments of the BMA have a time of the year when they ask for prayer and financial support from the local church. Day of Sharing is our time for this. I invite you to take part in making this effort a success.
“Doesn’t Baptist Publishing House make money from selling books?”
The answer to that question is “Yes, but not enough.” While we do make some additional money from the sales of curriculum, it is not enough to fully fund all the day-to-day needs of this ministry. We actually depend on regular, designated giving from local churches to stay open. In fact, about 25% of our income comes from such special offerings. Therefore, the Day of Sharing is a very important time for us.
“Our church doesn’t use BPH Curriculum?”
If that is the case, please understand that while your church may not utilize these resources, many other churches in the USA and on the mission field do. From a rural Oklahoma to the jungles of Bolivia, from a church plant in Minneapolis to a village in South Africa, our curriculum is strengthening churches and mission outposts. Your support helps these efforts by allowing us to keep curriculum prices low, send them for free, or purchase a printer for a missionary.
So far this year, our support of missionary printing looks like this:
• $3,000 for printing a discipleship book for Pakistani people
• $1,000 for printing supplies in Zambia
• $450 for printing gospel tracts in Mexico
• We are working to determine a need in Mexico and plan to meet it ASAP.
• Plus, we have traveled to Bolivia to provide Bible study and teacher training

What is the plan for the Day of Sharing funds?
While gifts received during the Day of Sharing will go to our General Fund, the plan is to utilize these gifts to accomplish a few particular goals. These goals include printing the final DiscipleKidz book, continuing the work on our curriculum for 7-12 graders, reworking and reprinting the Guide to God outreach Bibles, and more!
What can we do to help our Publishing House?
Please consider helping Baptist Publishing House by doing three things.
• Pray for Us. Please pray for us regularly. Add us to your church’s prayer list and remember us.
• Receive One Time Offering. Please receive a love offering for us this Sunday, Aug. 17.
• Consider Monthly Support. Please consider making us part of your church’s regular monthly giving.
