As some of you may know, the Risners have had to make an unexpected trip back to America, due to their daughter Lindsey’s health problems. Please be praying for them all in this difficult time. Seeing specialists and getting tests run is a very slow process these days, and they are all anxious to get to the bottom of what’s going on.
While the Risners are away, I have been leading our teen Bible study. We have had a fantastic time learning together about discipleship, and it has been fun to challenge them each week to do something for the Lord. Our challenges range from praying for 10 minutes each day to inviting a friend to our fall party to memorizing the fruit of the Spirit. I love watching these teens grow in their faith. Please keep each one of them in your prayers. In Romania, evangelicals are looked down on in the culture, and so these teens have a unique challenge in their schools and villages.
The English Club in Tarian has started back, and new kids have joined it! We’re excited to return to the village each week to teach. Please be in prayer for this work, and especially that God would open more doors here. Also, this Tuesday, my neighbor Monica came with me to help. Please keep her in your prayers. She lost her husband over a year ago and is really struggling. Pray for me that I may be a witness and a light to her.
“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps” (Prov. 16:9 ESV).
Prayers
• For Bryan, Pam and Lindsey, as she continues to see doctors and go through testing. May they find the source of these fainting spells, and may she be healed from them!
• On Nov. 23, Monica will come to my house for lunch with me and our pastor. Pray she is open to what he has to say!
• English Club and Youth Bible Study — may God use these ministries!
• For my spirits while here without the Risners on Thanksgiving.
Praises
• New kids at English Club!
• The teenagers invited their friends to the fall party, and we had several new teens! May they keep coming!
• God’s peace and comfort in a hard season. He has been very present with me during these months.
• Monica is more open to the gospel than she has been in the past and is asking good questions!
• A new opportunity to love on and disciple two young girls every week as I pick them up from school and take care of them for a few hours.
